Markus Gruber studied business administration at the University of Graz. From 1992 to 2004, he worked for JOANNEUM RESEARCH, first as a researcher and senior researcher, and as of 2000 as Manager of the Graz site of the Institute for Technology and Regional Policy (InTeReg). He was involved in numerous studies and consultation projects in the areas of regional economy, regional innovation policy and programme evaluation. In 1998, he undertook a research stay at the “European Policies Research Centre” at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. Since 2005, he has been Managing Partner at convelop, and in particular is responsible for the area of “policy design and evaluation”.
